What is the power in menstruation and how are we connected to the moon:
Menstruation is the bleeding phase of the menstrual cycle it is when the uterus sheds a tissue layer of the endometrium as well as the unfertilised ovarian follicle and these are excreted through the vagina – what we see as BLOOD. The Menstrual blood is mainly composed of blood, old parts of the uterine tissue, cells from the mucus lining of the vagina and the bacteria making up the vaginal flora.
The blood that is excreted during menstruation is blood that is rich in stem cells, which science is again rediscovering its tissue regenerative properties of it to among others. Stem cells represent an exciting area in medicine because of their potential to regenerate and repair damaged tissue. Some current therapies, such as bone marrow transplantation, already make use of stem cells.
We as spiritual people know that behind every unconscious or subconscious activity performed by the body involuntarily of your command has to be done by that universal or natural creative force that exists in each and every creation on this universe. So, with that said we then begin to get a clear-ish understanding of what the greatness of Menstruation would imply, given the intricate and delicate work that the uterus and the ovaries go through -without your consent or knowledge or command- when you think about it is a very powerfilled energy. This energy is the energy that prepares and nurtures an environment for the creation of a life – LIFE.
But ke mna (for me) I have my voodoo that I use my blood for that is very powerfilled.
Our menstrual cycles are connected to the lunar cycle; this connection is not just some new-age idea, since for centuries humans have been using astrology as a way to tell time, explain emotions and to try to predict the future. Both the moon cycle and the menstrual cycle are each on average 28 – 30 day long periods that are divided into 4 phases each.
The phases are connected and interconnected like for instance, the NEW MOON phase of the moon cycle are connected to the MENSTRUAL phase of the uterine cycle as well as the FOLLICULAR phase of the ovarian cycle.
For women to get a sense of this connection, it is very important that one be aware of what the moon is up to at each phase or stage in its cycle as well as how far she is in her cycle. When you are on your menstrual phase (which is when you are shedding tissue from the ovaries and the uterus, this is when the follicular phase in the ovaries begins which is greatly connected with the NEW MOON.
The New Moon is the beginning of the lunar cycle, it offers us a fresh start, it is when the moon is at its darkest and signifies a time for renewal and reflection. The energy of the new moon calls us inward. It is the most yin or feminine time of the month because it is a perfect time for tuning into the mysterious magic of our feminine side. We become more connected and intuitive during this time, and this is the time when you dream more often.
The new moon time is a great time to CLEANSE, REFLECT AND GO INWARD… Take more baths and remember your affirmations…
